Quick, run-don’t-walk-but-don’t-trip-over-your-own-feet-ya-dunce to your local bookstore and buy your baby daddy a book that’ll make him misty-eyed from the copious amount of gut-laughter he’ll experience while reading it. *Note: this is the kind of book non-readers will like to read. I promise.
Family-friendly (hehe) comedian Jim Gaffigan’s first book, Dad Is Fat, is a kind of scroll of stand-up routines and bits fashioned into a book that doesn’t so much tell a linear story but rather explain with comic genius the mystery that is fatherhood, motherhood, childhood, and Boyz In The Hood. Okay, maybe not that last one.
The chapters are short, like 1-3 pages each kind of short, so the lazy book-haters will feel an immediate sense of accomplishment by *polishing* off a few chapters while taking a massive shit or a wicked longer pisser if, for some reason, the man if your life pees sitting down. Whatever. I’m not judging. Laughing, but definitely not judging.
The whole book is a riot, but the last paragraph of page 44 is worth the price of admission alone. Buy it/Gift it for the Kindle on Amazon below or walk into an actual brick-n-mortar bookseller and buy Jim Gaffigan’s hilarious Dad Is Fat for a dad you know and love. Or like a whole lot.
You’ve just won Father’s Day. You’re welcome.
