MR. RICHARD AND THE POUND HOUNDS “GARBAGE MAN”
If you’re anything like me, you can easily envision a tune with that title by a band with that name being a crude blues song.
But get your head out of the trashcan, son, this is kid’s music. Geesh. 😉
I had several dream careers as a young child; third baseman for the Detroit Tigers, executive chef, bed & breakfast owner, restauranteur. Never once did I long to be a trash collector, but maybe that’s not such a bad gig because a garbage man “only works 2 days a week / gets to go fishing on the days in between or maybe to the pool / working on his tan” or he “…gets to go to movies on the days in-between” [now that I get to do right now!].
“Garbage Man” is from Mr. Richard and the Pound Hounds’ latest CD “Backyard Astronaut”, an album full of witty childhood observation set atop a low-fi, acoustic garage rock sound. Fun stuff.
You can buy “Garbage Man” from Amazon but don’t, ’cause the band is giving it away for free on CDBaby. Go get it now.
