Nintendo Wii Game Review: NASCAR Unleashed

Skylanders aside, we’re not gamers (have I driven – get it – that point home yet?). And aside from occasionally opening it up on the freeway in our Subaru, we’re not car or car racing people either. My 11-year old nephew, however, is both and as such I asked him to test out NASCAR Unleashed and to give me, and in turn you, the scoop.

Here are his thoughts, minimally edited:

NASCAR Unleashed
by Zachary Bogle

I love this game. It’s great fun and I enjoyed it so much. However, there were some things that were a little annoying. For example, the person guiding you through the game will not shut up!!!!!!!. And he is a little mean. Another thing, when you are going very fast and then you hit a turn, its completely uncontrollable. Lastly, some of the things were unexplained, like the hazards.  When a challenge came up that said Destroy Hazards I couldn’t figure out what it was. Still this is one of the best racing games I’ve played.

What I loved most about NASCAR Unleashed is that you and the competitors can get as aggressive as you want and that you can choose different drivers. But the very best thing about the game is that you can go to on and off-road tracks (as demonstrated in the trailer above).  The graphics were great and the controls were very straight forward. There may be a few glitches here and there, but otherwise, it was so much fun trying it out. NASCAR Unleashed is awesome!

NASCAR Unleashed is available now for Wii, 3DS, PS3, and Xbox 360.
