OWTK PHILLY LOCAL: The Best Restaurant for a Mom & Dad Date Night

Let’s face it, you and your significant other need some time alone. You need to stare deep into each other eyes and rekindle that flame of passion. Ooooor you need to make fun of your coworkers and bitch about the girl scout troop leader. Whichever. Totally your call.

Any and all of that is gonna be 250% better sitting down to a meal at Avalon Pasta Bistro in Downington, PA. I’ve long considered Avalon Restaurant in West Chester to be the finest dining establishment in the Philly ‘burbs. Now it’s got some real competition from it’s sister spot Pasta Bistro which sets out to provide Chester County residents with an affordable option to the slop served up at Buca di Beppo and the mundane shit passed off as authentic Italian cuisine over at the new Olive Garden.

For a limited time, Avalon Pasta Bistro is serving a midweek 3-course tour of the menu for an eye-poppingly low $19.80.  Even the regular $35 per person price fix is super reasonable.  With that one you pick a pasta + 3 other dishes – a seafood, a meat, one of the tasty flatbreads, or something sweet after dinner perhaps. It’s all delicious handcrafted food made and served by people who care. At Avalon Pasta Bistro you’ll be respected as an intelligent human being in search of imported cheeses, house made pastas, and food so achingly beautiful to look at and delicious to devour in a setting that is rustic, warm and relaxed, with prices that are more than fair.  And I’m not even mentioning the fact that you’d be supporting a locally owned small business!

You have to try it, at least once. I can’t imagine a situation in which you come away dissatisfied.

Oh, and when you go: order the autumn panzanella salad.  You’re welcome.

*Avalon Pasta Bistro is a cash-only BYOB that offers adults a pair of free craft beers from Victory Brewing Company or homemade sangria.
