My wife and I are from a part of the world were those tasty, often colorful adornments regularly found atop ice cream and baked goods are called Jimmies.
Neither her nor I know where this bizarre word originates but I can imagine some guy in Philly named Jimmy traveling far from home many decades ago and walking into a bakery to find a brownie topped with a rainbow of color and having his mind blown. Naturally, he *borrowed* the confectionery idea, started a bakery back home, and decided to call the sweet topping that was sprinkled atop his goodie “Jimmies” in honor of himself. Years later, people in Philadelphia and Boston are still calling their sprinkles Jimmies.
Fast forward to today and your kiddo, possibly a boy named Jim or Jimmy, James or Jimmer, opens their lunchbox and finds inside a pack of Entenmann’s® Minis Sprinkled Iced Brownies. He is understandably excited, his lunch table mates are understandably jealous, and he understandably proceeds to devour his Entenmann’s® Minis, making sure he gets every stray sprinkle by licking his index finger and pressing it against the fallen sprinkle on the lunch table (the officially recognized method for sprinkle recovery missions). Understandably, your wise child washes their hands thoroughly before and after lunch.
Minis are perfectly sized and individually wrapped, making on the go snacking during your summer road trips and school lunchtime packing easy peasy. Inside each packet of Entenmann’s Minis Sprinkled Iced Brownies is a fudgy, moist dessert topped with a layer of decadent fudge icing and sprinkled with colorful sprinkles (not Jimmies). This is a combination proven to help kids power through the second half of each school day with a smile.
To mix things up in your kid’s lunch bag, you can toss in a variety of Entenmann’s Minis, from donuts, crumb cake, chocolate chip brownies, apple pie and more, and know that they are the very same baked goods you and your kids know and love, only in individually wrapped, bit-sized, miniature stature.
No matter if you are from Philly or the New England area, make the end of summer and start of a new school year a sprinklefest by keeping boxes of Entenmann’s® Minis Sprinkled Iced Brownies on hand. There is no better excuse to dip your mask down than to take a bite of these delicious treats!
