OWTK PHILLY LOCAL: 2013 Arden Children’s Season and Drama School Open House

The Arden, the gem in the crown of Delaware Valley children’s theater scene, has announced their two ’13/’14 family productions and annual Drama School Open House. First the new season:

Sideways Stories from Wayside School, Adapted by John Olive from the books by Louis Sachar, will run from December 4, 2013-February 9, 2014. This is a revival, as the Arden put on Wayside School a number of years back. The Mrs. and I saw that alone and loved it. Now that the Bear has read and fallen hard for all of the Sachar books, we are super excited for this one to open.

Dr. Seuss’s The Cat in the Hat, Based on the book by Dr. Seuss, will run from April 16 – June 22, 2014. This should be hilarious if only because Mike Myers won’t be in it.

Now, the Open House!

On Saturday, 9/21 from 10am – 1pm, The Arden Drama School invites kids from Pre-K through 5th Grade that show an interest in acting, singing, set design and scriptwriting, to meet the faculty and take some mini-classes for free in their new Hamilton Family Arts Center at 62 N. 2nd Street. All you have to do is RSVP! Full details below.
