The ’12-’13 kid’s season at the Arden will get some love from OWTK in the near future. Previews of the old city theater’s first show, Cinderella, start on November 28th, and if you think you don’t want to see another staging of Cinderella (or is that just me?), consider the show’s premise blurb: “A defiant prince in disguise meets a strong-willed Cinderella in this adventurous adaptation – featuring a great bit of magic and set to the music of Mozart.” Strong-willed female character? Count us in!

Arden Drama School hosts Free Open House
Sunday, December 2
9am-1pm
Philadelphia, PA – Arden Theatre Company welcomes children and families to Arden Drama School’s Free Open House on Sunday, December 2 from 9am-1pm. This event provides an opportunity to meet Arden Drama School faculty and take mini-classes in Acting, Musical Theatre and Improvisation, as well as receive a backstage tour of the Arden. Classes for Kids in Kindergarten through 5th Grade will be held from 9am-11am, and classes for Teens in 6th Grade through 12th Grade will be held from 11am-1pm.

Arden Drama School, named Philadelphia Magazine’s Best of Philly 2010 Kids Classes, offers theatre classes and camps for kids in from pre-school through 12th grade. Pre-schoolers attend Bookworms and Crafty Critters, interactive classes to be taken with caregivers. Students in Grades K-5 are part of Kids’ Crew, and Grades 6-12 comprise the Arden’s Teen Company. Classes are offered in three semesters – fall, winter and spring – along with day camps in the summer.
