MY WOODLAND WISH
by Kate Endle and Caspar Babypants
A rhythmic children’s picture book with a scrapbooker’s charm and a musician’s cadence, My Woodland Wish is a love song to nature, its critters, and one young girl’s relationship with all of it, that sounds marvelous when read aloud. This is because, well, My Woodland Wish is a song (see below for a free download of it). While their ears are commandeered, Kate Endle’s lovingly handcrafted visuals attract young eyeballs as toddlers search for the not-so-hidden ladybug among the forest friends on each page.
I couldn’t possibly conceive of a more perfect physical representation of Chris Ballew’s warm and innocent Caspar Babypants music than the lovely My Woodland Wish, a worthy bedtime book successor to Goodnight Moon.
