What artist at the top of their specific genre releases free instructional videos teaching you how to play his songs? Um, no one I reckon. Well, no one expect Dan Zanes.
The modern king of old timey family folk has been publishing unassuming little videos on his You Tube page under the title Dan Zanes Family Band Workshop. The fella has long been preaching about the power of families playing music together and he’s putting his money where his mouth is once again by teaching you songs like “Wonder Wheel” and “Hello”.
His latest video is for my girl’s favorite Zanes-played tune “Pay Me My Money Down”. I cannot do much more than muting the strings on our beginner guitar, and I can’t even do that with any rhythm. Maybe you’ll fare better. Enjoy:
