That Time I Won An Iris Award

A few years ago I could basically only push down upon the button and now here I am winning an Iris Award for Best Photography in parent blogging at the 2016 Mom 2.0 Summit in Laguna Niguel, California. In my speech I thanked exactly no one. Here’s a paragraph to rectify that, if only slightly.

I owe thanks to many, most notably to Adam Cohen of Dada Rocks! who slid me beneath the door of Samsung Camera’s Imagelogger program, to Samsung themselves, Allison + Partners PR, and the 50+ Imageloggers who I’ve had he distinct honor of working ‘alongside’. Their incredible talent continues to set the bar higher and higher, and serves as a constant challenge for me to see the world differently and attempt to capture that within the frame of a camera’s lens. My dad bloggers! Where ya at!?? Thank you, fellas.

But really, it’s my wife who deserves the most thanks. She has never stopped believing that I can do things I’ve never done before, and pushing me to put myself in challenging and uncomfortable spots to grow as a creative person. It hasn’t hurt that she says “yes” every time an opportunity to travel and make photographs in stellar places arises. None of this happens without her.

I was humbled to receive the 2016 Iris Award honor for Best Photography, as voted on by my peers in the dad and mom blogger communities. Thank you all so much.
