I took about 30 photos last night for my new PBS Parents post, a little activity that takes all of the shoes left out in spring — the boots, sneakers, boat shoes and flip-flops — and makes something fun and educational out of ’em.
I didn’t use this photograph, of Mouse ‘examining’ one of her mother’s running shoes, but it is my favorite from the set because it makes no damn sense. It’s as if she can see the sneaker through the hairband-blindfold, but she can’t, yet she might have just believed she could.
That’s one of her finest qualities: she simply doesn’t believe there’s anything she can’t do, even in the face of reason and logic.
