We four enjoy all of these delicacies very much, for sure, but save for officially-sanctioned family Christmastime visits to my mom and dad’s house, we don’t do hor-d’oeuvres. The Turkey Summer Sausage is delightful, smooth and mild, more like a ham steak than a sausage in texture and flavor — such a pleasant surprise. And the cheeses! Oh my, the Creamy Swiss and the Parmesan Herb — my god they are so very good! The girls, who definitely have acquired a taste for fine cheese (Young Mahon, Toma Della Rocca, Raschera, and others thanks mostly to our favorite local restaurant Avalon, and their insanely perfect cheese boards,) also tore apart the Hickory Farm diary offerings.
I may never be crowned the king of hor-d’oeuvres-land, but thanks to Hickory Farms, I know exactly who and what to summon the next time we entertain friends or family in our culinary castle.
