My contributions to the September Fall Preview issue of Time Out New York Kids include an interview with Laurie Berkner and a look ahead to the special Gustafer Yellowgold Infinity Sock Preview Show at Symphony Space (11/20) – Morgan Taylor gave up some cool tidbits on iSock, due out early next year. Go read ’em both!
I also snagged my first ever photo credit, in this article on the Many Hands CD & The Deedle Deedle Dees Knitting Factory Variety Show. The pic is of the Dees and a gaggle of children (including the Mouse somewhere in there) at the Meltdown Festival in Florence, MA this past Spring.
The Laurie Berkner interview was a hoot to conduct, as it was intentionally lighthearted in nature. She’s a real sweetheart to talk to. The Q&A with Berkner is in the Fall preview issue because she is playing Town Hall on 10/3, a Sunday that might be one of the coolest kindie days of the season; The Pop Ups play the 92YTribeca that morning (more on this show later next month), the new WorryWoo Monster book (Fuddle’s The Monster Who Couldn’t Decide) is being launched with a public party at the swanky W Hotel in Hoboken, and finally, Sara Pennypacker and Marla Frazee bring their awesome Clementine young adult book series to Symphony Space as part of the Thalia Book Club.
Win 4 tickets to see Laurie Berkner at Town Hall (plus a copy of her new best-of album), 4 tix for the Gustafer Yellowgold iSock show at Symphony Space, or tickets to one of a dozen other great NYC family events here (courtesy of TONY Kids).
