When the New York Times hits doormats, driveways and iPads tomorrow morning, a good many folks are going to be introduced to Justin Roberts, the glorious world of kindie rock, and Bill Childs of the Spare the Rock Spoil the Child kid’s radio show. All good things for a family to learn about, me thinks.
It’s always cause to stand up and pay attention when one of the big boys covers one of our own, and this sizable New York Times piece is no exception. There’s likely to be no immediate impact for artists not named Justin Roberts, but make no mistake: this is a good day for high quality, hard working, and quick witted kiddie rockers everywhere.
Now I wanna see the Philadelphia Inquirer publish a piece on Dean Jones and the Felice Brothers, the Detroit Free Press tackle Clementown, and the Post Dispatch tell all of St. Louis about the Sugar Free Allstars – hell, I’ll write all of those articles if they want!
In the meantime, let’s all enjoy the coverage Mr. Roberts and Bill Childs are about to enjoy. Why wait until Thursday though? Read the entire NY Times article on Justin Robert right now, right here.
