February in New York – Kid’s Music Galore

Looking for something fun to do in New York City during the shortest month of the year?

Well, you’re in luck ’cause there are tons of great kid’s concerts all over the city.  But which one(s) to attend…what’s a family to do?  Allow the Bear and I to be your guide to 4 of February’s best kid’s music events.

There are so many great shows, it was hard to hone in on just a thumbless-handfull of ’em.  Here are some that got left on the cutting room floor: Key Wilde & Mr. Clarke (2/13), Ralph’s World (2/20) and Astrograss (2/27) are all at Symphony Space.  On 2/6 @ the Bleecker Street Theater in Noho, Hayes Greenfield kicks off an open-ended run of weekly Jazz-A-Ma-Tazz shows/workshops.  Saturday the 6th is shaping up to be insanely busy, as Dan Zanes & Friends will bring down the house at BAM.  Also, consider catching Uncle Rock’s record release show at the 92Y on 2/28 @ 11am.

Oh, as you’ll notice, the Bear’s real name is revealed in this TONY Kids piece (gasp!)  Expect even more of her there and here…once the arbitrator rules on her 2010 salary.
