Big thanks to Chevy for the 2019 Silverado loaner and for arranging a lovely late fall morning at our local tree farm. We were able to get a big ol’ Christmas tree, cut it down ourselves, and safely get her home in the Silverado’s truck bed.
I liked the power, the heat coming from the entire front seat, the pantry-sized armrest, OnStar, and the quick-connecting Bluetooth. The girls fell in love with the legroom, two ‘secret’ storage compartments behind their 2nd row bench seats, and the Chevy truck bed front yard playhouse in which they had a powerstrip plugged into the truck bed electrical outlet with a heated blanket on full blast, several pillows strewn about, and Chevy logo Christmas lights strung up.
My 11-year-old had no pickup truck mileage on her odometer before this month arrived but within minutes of the 2019 Silverado arriving, I saw the birth of a truck girl in the driveway. Five days later, she has never been so sad to say goodbye to a vehicle.
Here’s what our long weekend in a 2019 Chevy Silverado with a 10′ Christmas tree and one very heated blanket looked like.
