This is a bit like the Best New Artist Grammy going to an established act with a back catalog — damn that is annoying. Still, I would like to introduce you all to the lovely & talented Jess Penner.
Penner is currently in the studio laying down tracks for her 3rd album, due this summer, but I spoke with her last year about her 2nd, Growing In The Cold, among other topics, for Popdose. My girls love that album, and so do I. If you’ve got tweens and teens, and wonder about the redeeming qualities (or lack there of) in modern Top-40 pop radio then you’re going to fall right in love with Jess Penner.
