Much to our surprise, and merriment, the Mrs. and I were treated to a hefty dose Pete Seeger at the 2011 Newport Folk Fest. Surprise because he wasn’t advertised as a performer at this year’s fest. Merriment because, well, it’s Pete Freakin’ Seeger!
We heard him not once, not twice, not thrice, but FOUR (4!) times over the course of the weekend, including sitting 20 feet from him as he sang Happy Birthday to Ramblin’ Jack Elliott at the backstage benefit BBQ on Saturday evening.
