Trim the Tree (A Christmas Tradition)

It’s 2010 and everything feels so damn disposable.  Traditions, however small, involving family and/or longtime close friends become more valuable.  They’re critical to raising introspective kids with a sense of purpose and a scope beyond their immediate impulses and desires.

Traditions renewed: The Bear & Mouse help Mom mom decorate her tree.

That is what I jotted down while driving home from my family’s annual tree trimming party this past weekend.  I wrote about this particular Christmas tradition last year and thought I’d revisit it today.

Does your gang have any cherished traditions?  Do you hold them dear, as a means of attaining some permanence in a increasingly transient world?
