The Type of Guy I Am

A scone for each of us.

I’m the type of guy who’ll wake up at 7am on a idyllic Sunday morning and lie in bed for a few minutes thinking about the ingredient potential in his kitchen, specifically the 2 sticks of unsalted butter and 1/4 cup of heavy cream that remain in his fridge, ghosts of recipes past.

I’m the type of guy who’ll think about scones, not his personal favorite breakfast pastry, but the only breakfast pastry he’s ever made that requires unsalted butter and heavy cream.

I’m the type of guy who’ll quietly roll out of bed to let his wife and his kids stay sleeping, and quickly make a tiny batch of four cinnamon chip scones.

I’m the type of guy who can 1/3 an egg.

I’m the type of guy who’ll jet over to the grocery store to get milk with 14 minutes left on the oven timer.

I’m the type of guy who knows an ice cold glass of milk is needed to properly enjoy a warn cinnamon chip scone.

I’m the type of guy who knew perfectly well the evening prior that he was out of milk, but doesn’t remember to stop and buy some on the way home from the kid’s birthday party he attended.

I’m the type of guy who will, it would seem apparent now, write a blog post about the type of guy he is.
