The Arden Theatre’s new showtime workshops for kids in grades K thru 5 combine babysitting with drama class allowing grown-ups to enjoy weekend matinee performances of the company’s mainstage productions while youngsters are cared for and taught something theatrical!
This brilliant program kicks-off Sunday October 16th @ 2pm during August: Osage County and is scheduled for one Sunday afternoon during each of the five shows this ’11-’12 season. More information and the full calendar of available Arden showtime workshop dates here.
The workshops are for ticketed attendees of the select performances only and cost $30 per child which, unless you have 3+ children, is likely going to be cheaper than hiring a babysitter. This way, your kids won’t be plopped in front of the TV at home while your sitter texts her friends, plus you can enjoy a nice meal in Olde City Philadelphia as a family before or after the show.
Every single theater should offer such a program.
