ONE TRACK MIND: The Boogers “Otto’s Orange Day”

If The Ramones had played ABCD’s instead of CBGB’s, they’d have been The Boogers.  The band’s musical transformation of the Toon Book “Otto’s Orange Day” is a match made in heaven: a kid’s comic book story set to unadulterated late-70’s NYC punk rock.

My girls love the Toon Book Otto’s Orange Day and were psyched to learn that the story had become a song.  And really, there isn’t a better kid’s band on earth to score the be-careful-what-you-wish-for tale then The Boogers.

It’s fast, it’s furious and it’s fun. Check out “Otto’s Orange Day” by The Boogers.

…and a bonus!

Let call this a TWO TRACK MIND ’cause you should also give a listen to, and download, The Boogers thrashing version of Harry McClintock’s “Big Rock Candy Mountain”. It’s on repeat as my favorite song of the moment. The Mouse was absolutely freaking out to this one yesterday. She had shakers in each hand and was dancing like she never has before, with a reckless abandon that was light-years away from her typical, graceful (well, attempted graceful) ballet moves.
