The 8 Best Foods At Trader Joe’s

Have you been into a Trader Joe’s store recently? It’s as if a pumpkin patch exploded in there, coating the store’s decorations, the product packaging and the foods themselves in an autumnal hue. I think everything save for the eggs has a new pumpkin spice-flavored alternative on the shelf at Trader Joe’s this month but this list of the best food at Trader Joe’s, with one exception, avoids the seasonal in favor of the flavors you, me and everyone can and should buy all year long.

Here are the best Trader Joe’s foods or, the best food at Trader Joe’s or, Trader Joe’s best foods!

The 8 Best Foods At Trader Joe’s

Trader Joe’s Tarte D’ Alsace (Flat Bread w/ Ham, Caramelized Onions & Gruyere Cheese)

Found in the freezer section, this pizza/flatbread/tart is the single greatest food sold at Trader Joe’s. Is the Tarte D’ Alsace good for you? Not in the least, but as cheat day eats go, you won’t find a better way to go calorie crazy.

Trader Joe’s Pumpkin Waffles

I know, I know, it’s pumpkin but these pumpkin waffles are not over the top which is a nice change on the pumpkin spicing of EVERYTHING. A nice, tempered pumpkin flavor in the A.M. with some warm maple syrup makes autumn even tastier and more aromatic than the season already is. Dig in.

Trader Joe’s Baked Cheese Crunchies

You know exactly what snack these Baked Cheese Crunchies are based on but they are 2000% better tasting and better for you than those, plus your hands will still get all orangey and finger-licking delicious!

Trader Joe’s Maple & Brown Sugar Instant Oatmeal

I love to make oatmeal from scratch for my girls but when I’m not home or when the girls wake up before me, this Maple & Brown Sugar Instant Oatmeal is more than a capable pinch hitter.

Trader Joe’s Gyro Slices

I literally run to the gyro shop or food truck whenever I see or smell a bastion of tzatziki so when I recently discovered pre-cooked gyro slices at Trader Joe’s and their tzatziki sauce on the shelf beneath, I threw them into my cart straightaway. Cooked in less than a minute, these gryo slices allow me to eat traditional Turkish / Middle Eastern food at home any time I want. Ain’t that America?!

Trader Joe’s Bananas & Cream Yogurt

My kids will not allow me to create a Best 8 Foods At Trader Joe’s list without including their favorite yogurt. Sold as part of a 6-pack with the good-but-not-as-good Strawberries & Cream, the Banana version of this rich and delicious treat is gone nearly as soon as I unpack the groceries. Would I like the option to buy only the Bananas & Cream version? Yes, yes I would.

Trader Joe’s Cereal Bars

Pick your poison…no wait that’s a terrible saying to use when talking about food…pick your fave flav — blueberry, strawberry, apple or new mango and even pumpkin — all varieties of cereal bars are winners. Just like you. Trader Joe’s cereal bars make for incredible school snacks and a quick breakfast-on-the-go option.

Trader Joe’s Cookie Sticks

Finally, there are the Trader Joe’s Cookie Sticks. These deadly chocolate chunk cookie sticks are straight up delicious…but deadly. I can’t actually have them in the house because I’ll devour the entire package of 8 sticks in a single day with a 1/2 gallon of milk but they are the best sweet thing sold in Trader Joe’s. There is no photo because they aren’t in my home right now, nor can they ever be again.

What’s your favorite Trader Joe’s food? Tell me what to try the next time I go shopping!

  1. Candy Cane Joe Joe’s. Straight up or dipped in chocolate. Dude.

Also, we’re fans of the baked cheese crunchies, the sesame cashews, the chicken apple sausage, the yogurt smoothies, the peach salsa, and lots of other things. I’m afraid to go in there right now, because I would come home with a car full of pumpkin spice everything. December is dangerous, too.
