OWTK Gaming / OWTK Giveaways

Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards and a Skylanders Trap Team Starter Pack Giveaway

Skylanders Trap Team Giveaway

OWTK has been in on the Skylanders phenomenon since day one, watching Activision grow the relatively unknown property from a single, inventive toys-to-life game in 2011 to a monolithic empire of trading cards, bedding, clothes, cereal, and of course more video games. Heck, in 2014 my family was on the front page of the Philadelphia Inquirer’s Style Section playing Skylanders! Our love is real, our respect, mad.

Last fall, the 4th installment of the multi-platform video game was released and it is, without a doubt, the finest yet. I think, for me, it is the clever introduction of the traps and the little dungeon-esque portion of the new portal that clinches it. When you capture a villain and trap him or her, the sound effects as they travel from the screen to the portal are absolutely mesmerizing. I really cannot get enough of it. They totally seem to be traveling from TV to portal and I think it a stroke of game design genius.

It is no mistake then that Skylanders Trap Team is up for Most Addicting Game at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards 2015. Vote for Skylanders Trap Team now, along with your favorite action movie, animated film, actress (Emma Stone!), singer and more.

Now, I’m giving you the chance to experience this genius game first hand with a Skylanders Trap Team Starter Pack Giveaway! The starter pack includes the Trap Team game, portal, two Skylanders characters and a trap. I’ll pick a winner at random next Friday, March 20th so get your entries in by midnight ET on Thursday the 19th. The winner will receive the Trap Team starter pack for the game system of their choice (Xbox 360, Wii U, 3DS, etc.) Sound good, right? Cool. Go for it!

*Sorry, Cananda. This giveaway is open to U.S. residents only. 🙁

Good luck!

  1. Ummm…Stealth Elf?! Honestly, if I knew anything about Skylanders, I wouldn’t need a starter pack! 🙂 But man, my kids would love me so much harder if this showed up one day!

  2. I’m saying “Stealth Elf” because I think she’s badass, not because she’s your fave too, lol!

  3. Skylanders are to my kids what air is to regular humans. I don’t know how we’ve held off getting this version for them for this long…

  4. I see posts and comments everywhere re: Skylanders. I’m going to do some research to enlighten myself. 3yo not interested in video games though. But I’ll give it a shot.

  5. I have to go old school and go with Spyro. He was the original and the best!

  6. Anyone who grew up playing the original PlayStation system should be saying Spyro. The best thing they did with Skylanders was bringing that character into the game. He’s my favorite for nostalgia reasons.

  7. I’m going to say stealth elf. Ive been looking at either skylanders or Infinity to introduce my daughter to video games in a fun way

  8. Stealth Elf rules!! (I think) My girls dig Disney Infinity so I think this would be right up their alley. 🙂

  9. im going to go with Bronze Hot Dog a special edition E3 character I got for my boys back in 2013.

  10. NINJINI – Skylanders Giants!

  11. My kids have never played it, yet somehow love it. My son even has a Skylanders backpack. It would be so rad to score this for them.

  12. I’ve been looking for more sharp looking toys that my kids could leave on the floor for me to step on. These look perfect.

  13. I like Pop Fizz. He’s funny 🙂

  14. Stealth Elf is my favorite by far.

  15. We like Food Fight. I giggle every time he shoots h8s tomato gun!

  16. Top 5 in order:

    Stink Bomb
    Pop Fizz
    Trigger Happy
    Night Shift
    Drobot

  17. I’ve been wondering whether I should start looking into Skylanders as something new for my kids to get excited about. Winning a starter set would answer that question for me!

  18. Oh, and knowing nothing about it, I’ll say Stealth Elf is tops.

  19. My older daughter’s two favorite things: dragons and robots = Drobot

  20. Gill grump

  21. Emily Endrizzi says:
