Father’s Day Product Review & Giveaway: Lands’ End Mesh Polo Shirt

Don’t be jealous, but I spend the majority of my days in nothing more than a t-shirt and underwear since leaving the corporate world of finance over 2 1/2 years ago. Still, I like to upgrade my upper half when out to dinner, the theater or over my folks’ place for a family function. Yeah, I also pants-up when hittin’ the town…in case you were wondering or were a little nervous of meeting me in person someday.

In the warmer months, my preferred snazzy going-out top has been a bold blue Eddie Bauer polo shirt, a hold over from my day job days. It’s comfy, for sure, but has the annoying habit of washing up poorly. I’m talking specifically about the collar. It’s curly now.  Kinda unsightly actually.

This is why when the good folks at Dads Central Consulting asked me to try out the New Lands’ End Mesh Polo I jumped at the chance.

I love love love my new Lavender Ice (that’s right) Mesh Polo Shirt. It looks great and feels great, laying nicely against my too-large chest, and stands up strong to my harsh laundering (cold wash/burn dry). Most importantly, the collar hasn’t turned into a plate of curly fries! It’s still as flat as it was out of the package. Sweet.

**Hey big guys, this is the smart casual shirt of your dreams.  The XXL size is very forgiving in the way it lays across the chest and is extra roomy around the waist. I’d have guessed it was 3XL when I first tried it on.  As a somewhat fashionable, overweight debonair gentleman, I often have trouble finding handsome gear for my large frame.  So color me super impressed with the material, the feel and the comfort this new polo.**

Even though I don’t have to dress up during the work week, a polo shirt is still an essential part of my wardrobe.  It’s a versatile piece of clothing that looks fantastic with cargo shorts, jeans, a bathing suit, underwear (!), anything really…if you’re really desperate you could even rock a polo with a pair of sweatpants (not recommended, just sayin’). The new Lands’ End Mesh Polo Shirts have a reasonable price point ($29.50-$34.50) making it a sweet gift for a dad, dad to be, grandpa, or any fella in your life.  I’m giving one away (below) but if you can’t wait, head to Lands’ End right now to buy one on sale for 30% off (the sale ends today people!)
