Kindie Rock March Madness via Zooglobble
OWTK Kid's Music News — By Jeff on March 16, 2010 at 10:16 amIt’s becoming a dependable annual tradition in the kindie rock world – the Zooglobble KidVid Tournament!
Borrowing it’s structure from the NCAA Basketball Tournament aka March Madness aka the greatest sporting event held each year, Zooglobble’s KidVid tourney pits the finest in kid’s rock-n-roll music videos against each other in a familiar bracket format. Last year, hundreds upon hundreds of votes were cast in the championship “game” between kindie heavyweights The Jimmies and Secret Agent 23 Skidoo.
The Asheville, North Carolina kid-hopper won out in ‘09. Who will cut down the (inter)nets this year?
*I’m more than a little surprised that Justin Roberts’ “Stay At Home Dad”, Key Wilde & Mr. Clarke’s “Frog on a Log”, and both Dean Jones videos (from “Rock Paper Scissors”) failed to make this list of tournament hopefuls. I’d like to hear from the tournament chairman about those omissions.
First up, click here to play the role of selection committee and help pick the teams videos to be in the field of 15. Then, you’ll want to return to Zooglobble regularly to vote in the individual video matchups.

Maybe he did, maybe he did.
Looks like the quote was stripped out.)

As we move our way through KidVid Tournament 2009, I realize that I passed over Justin Roberts’ video for “Pop Fly,” introduced during last year’s tournament.
Justin, stop doing this, ‘cuz I’m gonna forget next year, too.
Thanks, Jeff, for the shout-out! All good questions…
1) “Stay-At-Home Dad” was, unfortunately, released prior to the eligibility window — just because I forgot it last year didn’t mean it was going to get in this year. Justin — release another video!
2) “Had a Little Dog” was actually part of the ‘08 KidVid Tournament…
3) Dean Jones was one of those “bubble” artists which really goes to demonstrate how competitive (read: good) the kids music video genre has become. In past years, one of those easily would’ve made the cut.
