Breaking News: KC Jiggle Jam 2010 Lineup Revealed!
Jiggle Jam 2009, OWTK Kid's Music News — By Jeff on March 14, 2010 at 10:39 amLast year, the fine folks behind Kansas City’s Jiggle Jam put together the greatest weekend of kid’s music imaginable. Heck, even letting me on the main stage to introduce one of the bands couldn’t detract from the greatness of the festivities!
I contend this lineup, top to bottom, may never be topped:
- They Might Be Giants
- Dan Zanes
- Justin Roberts
- Recess Monkey
- Trout Fishing in America
- Funky Mama
- Sugar Free All Stars
- Jim “Mr. Stinky Feet” Cosgrove, among others.
While the ‘10 Jiggle Jam artist roster doesn’t quite stack up to it’s predecessor (I can already here the cries – “Where’s They Might Be Giants!!”), it’s still very, very impressive and sets up to be one of the highlights of this year’s kids music calendar.
Let’s take a look at the bands performing at KC Jiggle Jam this Memorial Day weekend:
- Ralph’s World
- Terrence Simien & The Zydeco Experience
- Choo Choo Soul
- The Jimmies
- Secret Agent 23 Skidoo
- Sugar Free Allstars
- Jim “Mr. Stinky Feet” Cosgrove
- Dino O’Dell
- Funky Mama
- The Doo Dads
For those thinking of passing on Jiggle Jam this year because of a lack of Giants, don’t. Your town is once again primed to become the center of the kid’s music universe for one glorious weekend. The Might Be Giants are terrific, you’ll get to argument here, but holistically the kid’s genre is just as terrific. You’ll love Ralph’s World. You’ll adore Ashley Albert and her Jimmies. Sugar Free All Stars are about to release what will surely be a top 10 kid’s CD of 2010. Secret Agent 23 Skidoo is amazing. Jim Cosgrove’s feet still stink and his music is still super fun. Don’t sleep on this year’s Jiggle Jam…trust me.
Great hotel discounts are available now (I recommend the Westin Crown Center – great location, great pool and free kid’s club backpack for each child upon arrival). 2010 Jiggle Jam tickets on sale soon.

Thanks for the blog post on Jiggle Jam! You are right, there are some cries and disappointment about the lack of TMBG. But, I think most will realize that 3 years of TMBG is a bit excessive and unrealistic – no matter how much we all enjoy and love them! Think about it, we’d have to change the name to TMBG Jam! Not a bad idea, but let’s share the stage! JJ is fully funded by community sponsors and the sponsorship climate is rough this year. But we have not let that get in the way of our mission to provide some of the country’s best family entertainment. The audience will not be disappointed – 2010 is gong to rock! And we have already started working on the list for next year! (but, please do not send me any emails asking me about it
